American soprano, Crystal Glenn, is sought after for her scintillating stage presence and keen ability to connect with her audiences. For the 2023-24 season, Ms. Glenn most recently made her role debut this past Fall with Taconic Opera as Zerbinetta from Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos.
She has appeared with Taconic Opera in prior seasons as Blonde from Mozart’s Die Entfürung aus dem Serail, Oscar from Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera and Lauretta from Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi. Recently, she performed the roles of Pamina and Despina from Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte and Così fan tutte, respectively, with New York Opera Conservatory in Westchester County, NY
Most recently, Ms. Glenn performed with Carolina Performing Arts (Chapel Hill, NC) and Spoleto Fesitival USA (Charleston, SC), to premiere the Pulitzer Prize winning opera, Omar, by composers Rhiannon Giddens and Michael Abels.
Other operatic highlights include: Julie (cover) in Rhiannon Gidden’s & Michael Abels’ Omar with Carolina Performing Arts, Suor Osmina in Verdi’s Suor Angelica and covering the role of Nella from Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi with Martina Arroyo’s Prelude to Performance, Vixen in Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen and Rebecca in Nico Muhly’s Two Boys with Manhattan School of Music Contemporary Opera Ensemble, Monica in Menotti’s The Medium, Ilia from Mozart’s Idomeneo and Susanna from Le Nozze di Figaro, with New York Summer Opera Scenes, and Cherubino in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro with Manhattan School of Music.
Ms. Glenn has been a recipient of prestigious awards such as Lotte Lenya Semi-Finalist, Five Towns Music & Art Competition, and Harlem Opera Theater Competition.
Ms. Glenn holds a Bachelor of Music from Westminster Choir College of Rider University and a Master of Music from Manhattan School of Music, both in Vocal Performance.
